INT - AD ON TV - DAY
The scene is of an ad on an old static TV. The ads are a mix of realistic backgrounds with cartoon characters.
The ad has a chirpy VOICE-OVER.
VOICE-OVER
Are you tired of varmints getting into your house? Are you sick of getting sick from the radiation poisoning regular home traps cause?
On-screen: A cartoon of a lady emptying a giant roch from a trap then being sick
VOICE-OVER
(Cont.)
You should get our new home security system R.O.D.
On-screen: ROD is a robot with blades for hands. He is floating down the stairs.
VOICE-OVER
(Cont.)
Meet ROD. He is our Rottery Operated Deactivator. He’s your new best friend. No need to worry about him getting caught on things or tripping downstairs. He floats!
On-screen: ROD is chasing a giant roach with his blades spinning. His eyes are red now.
VOICE-OVER
(Cont.)
With his rotary blades, ROD can deactivate any unwanted varmints. He then disposes them in his mincer before storing any radiation in this radion cell, which can be used to power your home!
On-screen: A two-point diagram. First showing an animation of ROD’s mincer. Then showing him giving a green glowing radiation cell to a happy cartoon child.
VOICE-OVER
(Cont.)
Not only does ROD deal with unwanted varmints. He deals with intruders too! Even those pesky hill giants.
On-screen: Show rod using his mincer. He is bloated and letting out steam. A giant foot is sticking out of him.
VOICE-OVER
(Cont.)
But be careful to fully register all your friends and family. Or ROD might deactivate them too. But don’t let that put you off. As long as ROD is properly calibrated that won’t be an issue! So Get your ROD today!
ROD is on screen. His eyes glow red again and his blades spin. He darts towards the screen. The screen goes static for a second before returning to more happy images of ROD cleaning and playing with children.
The voice-over is now speaking at twice the speed and is much less cheery. Tiny text appears at the bottom of the screen. It is what the voice-over is saying.
VOICE-OVER
ROD Corp must make it clear that deactivation refers to death in all cases. Likely hood of failed calibration is high. Loved ones may be lost.
